1970's Piaget "Golden Hammer" Tonneau Automatic

This is an absolutely wild solid 18K gold Piaget with a full hammered or “florentine” finished television dial automatic statement piece.
So if you’re looking for something discrete, this ain’t it. A glance at this watch is only one step removed from staring into the sun. And while the idea of a solid gold wrist brick volleying every photon of light hither and thither may seem like too much, I would argue that it is just right.
Looking a bit closer, this watch is all about its extroverted details. Its 32mm case, dial and bracelet are dripped completely clasp to clasp in an eye watering hammer finish, made even more spectacular by how the metal has achieved an almost rosy patina after 50 years. Its gold dauphine hands, a signature of Piaget’s design language, clearly denote the time as they promenade among twelve faceted and high polished applied indices.
